The Art of The Burn Safety First
Candles are beautiful, fragrant and a lovely addition to any decor here are a few simple safety tips that will ensure your candles give you many hours of enjoyment. *The Number 1 practice in safe candle burning is keeping the wick clipped to 1/4 and centered.

Never burn your candle in a draft; it will lower the burn time making the candle burn much quicker, the candle will burn unevenly, drip, and it will make the candle smoke. This can also cause the flame to become larger and could result in a fire.
Replace the lids on your aromatherapy candles when not burning to keep the essential oils fresh.
To prevent smoking, uneven burning and maintain a proper flame height, keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 of inch and centered; also keep your candles free of matches, wick trimmings and other flammable objects.
Never leave a burning candle unattended even for a short time. If you can not see it, blow the flame out. Always keep candles out of the reach of both children and pets and never leave them alone with a burning candle.
Blow your candle out after 2 hours of burning, clip the wick, and allow the wax to harden again before relighting the candle, this prevents the candle from over heating which could result in a fire.
Burn your candles on a level heat resistant surface.
Never move a burning container candle, blow it out and wait until the wax has hardened and the glass has cooled to prevent the container from breaking and possible burns.
Always discontinue use and discard a container candle when the bottom layer of wax becomes completely liquid.
Never use flammable substances around a candle and keep candle away from flammable objects such as curtains.
When breaking your candle in allow it to burn long enough with the first
lighting that a pool of wax almost reaches its edge. In future burnings, all
candles will only burn as far from the wick as they did the first time. This is
referred to as a "candle's memory". Once broken in allow the candle to burn no longer
then 2 hours at a time.
To store candles place them on their side in a cool dry area.
For all votives to achieve their proper burn time they must be placed in a snug, properly sized votive holder since by nature, they liquefy when burned.
