1. What makes your candles different than others on the market?

A. We put a lot of time, care and quality ingredients into every candle. We hand pour our candles and inspect every one. If it doesn't meet our standards, we will not sell it. While it's time consuming, we know we are selling the best candle you can find anywhere.

2. Is soy a better choice than paraffin candles?

A.  It is a personal preference, paraffin candles have been used for many years with no ill effects or health problems that have been linked to candle use. Soy does help to support the American farmers with a renewable crop that has an excellent market. Soy is also cleaner burning then paraffin.

3.  Do your candles contain any animal by products?

At Strega Moon Candle we have a commitment to creating products that use all natural ingredients. Our products do not contain animal by products and are not tested on animals. We use natural plant derived wax and essential oils except in our fragrance oil candles which contain the highest grade of alcohol free fragrance oils on the market today.

4. What does "clean burning" mean?

A. Anything that burns will create some soot and smoke.  Soy and Palm Wax are both from all natural plant sources that contain no petroleum by products. We use the finest wick and oils to create a candle that produces very little soot when cared for properly (please read our candle burning tips).

5. Why do you still  hand make all your candles instead of using machines like more well known companies do?

A. While using machines would of course meet our growing demands much faster we feel it produces an inferior candle. We can inspect every candle made as we hand finish it this results in a better candle for our customers.

6. Why do your candles still smell so good after I have had it for a long time and other companies don't?

A. We're very picky about our fragrance oils and where we purchase them. If they contain alcohol, like many of the cheaper oils do, the scent will evaporate as the alcohol base is burned off. We mix our fragrance oils throughout the candle. Many larger companies, spray the fragrance oil on the outside of the candle. While that practice is more cost effective for the company, giving them a larger profit, it is the main reason that the scented candle you bought loses it smell after a short while.

7.    Do your wicks contain lead?

A.    Candles produced in the United States are lead free. If you purchase your candles at a department store that carry candles made in other countries be sure to ask if the wick is lead free. At Strega Moon we will never use a lead or metal containing wick in any of our candles. We test all our wicks for performance before we place a candle style for sell. While some candle manufacturers use zinc core wick which is safe, we prefer to give our customers that extra assurance: if there is no metal then there can be no lead in the candle wick.

8.  How soon will I receive my candles after I place an order?

A. We make our candles when ordered. We usually tell our customers to expect 1-2 week lead time. You will be sent an email when your candles are on their way.

9. Do you ship to P.O. box and F.P.O. and A.P.O. addresses?

A. Yes, we will. If you prefer to have your candles mailed to a P.O. box we will be happy to ship by U.S. postal service.

10. Are your candles guaranteed?

A. Our candles carry a 100% guarantee. If you are not satisfied for any reason we will refund your cost of the candle that you paid by a company check, shipping charges can not be refunded.

We cannot however refund candles that are made for special orders such as weddings. We will however, replace those that might arrive damaged.

11. Will I have to return my candles to get a refund?

A. Yes, just return the candles to us using the original box or any suitable packing material and we will send your refund upon receiving the returned candles.

12. Can I track my order?
A. Yes, you will be emailed a tracking number for all packages sent by UPS. A delivery confirmation is also used on those packages sent by postal service.

13. What is meant when people say a candle has a memory?
